The Willmar Warhawks have completed a trade a couple weeks ahead of the deadline, sending veteran forward Jacob May (’98, Star, ID) to Milwaukee in exchanged for forward John Kosa (’00, Milford, MI), a 1st round draft pick, tender and financial considerations.

The deal allows May, in his last year of junior hockey, to make a playoff push and get more exposure in hopes of landing a college opportunity for his future.

The Warhawks grab some future assets as they continue to build the program, and allow some of their current younger players have more opportunity to develop.  May was playing top-6 time and power play looks for the Warhawks, and that time will be up for grabs on a daily and weekly basis.  Kosa is expected to come in and compete for minutes as well to add depth to the team in a division where you cannot have enough of it.

The Warhawks would like to thank Jacob for his time here, after being acquired in October from Coulee Region.  The organization wishes him the best as he finishes his junior hockey career.
