The Willmar Warhawks junior hockey team, proud members of the NA3HL, are pleased to announce the signing extension of Mike Bowman to be the Director of Business Operations for 2018-19 season. Bowman will take on this role in addition to his responsibilities as coach.
As Director of Business Operations, Bowman will be responsible for all aspects of day-to-day as well as long-term business planning for the organization. He will head up the sales and marketing campaigns, as well as plan promotions, VIP and group outings. The position will also be responsible for hiring, training and managing all game-day staff and promotional interns for the program.
“I’m excited to tackle this new role with the organization,” Bowman said. “Willmar is a great town with a ton of potential for support for junior hockey. The Warhawks are going to do everything possible to engrain the players in the community and make them available to the public for community events and outreach. Our goals here are to give this town a team they can be proud of, as well as raise young men to be upstanding members of the community while they prepare and train for college opportunities.”
The support for the program has been outstanding in it’s first two seasons in Willmar, and Bowman hopes to build upon that. “I’m looking forward to working with a team of local enthusiasts to ramp up the experience fans have when they come to the Willmar Civic Center for the Warhawks games. We want the atmosphere to be both family-friendly and one that will generate excitement and memories that has fans anxious to come back. The work done by the youth organization and the high school teams has already laid a foundation for the next level of hockey here. We want to work with them to build upon it.”
The Warhawks will soon be announcing several open positions needing filled to assist the team in it’s performance of these functions. The organization would like to thank everyone who has supported and been a major factor in the team’s success thus far. One of the keys to establishing success is the help and support of local community members who want to be a part of something bigger than themselves, and have something they can be proud of and call their own.
