WARHAWKS FALL TO CYCLONES

OUT OF DIVISION SERIES WITH CYCLONES

WarHawks headed to Wausau Wisconsin for their out of division series vs the Cyclones. Beginning Friday with a red hot start leading 2-0 with goals from Tyler Misialek and Nik Johnson just 3:25 into the game. But It was all Wausau from that point on as the Cyclones dominated in the special teams game scoring 6 Powerplay goals on their 12 opportunities giving the game a final of 7-2 in Wausau’s favor.

Saturday night back at Marathon Park Arena, the WarHawks looked to settle in, and they did. A much more back and forth game. The 2 teams didn’t get any goals in the 1st but exchanged a goal apiece in the 2nd period. Scott Woltman getting Willmar on the board tying the game at 1. 16:27 into the 3rd saw a costly mis coverage by the Warhawks allowing Wausau a breakaway leading to the game winning goal for the Cyclones. Making a final of 2-1.

The WarHawks will be looking to make some changes improving the special teams and lookout for some player additions leading into next weekend where the WarHawks will start their weekend @ Granite City on Friday Nov. 10 followed by hosting the Rochester Grizzlies the following night Saturday Nov. 11.
