WARHARKS GET IN THE WIN COLUMN WITH SPLIT OVER MN LOONS

WarHawks got on the win column, Starting the weekend on the road vs the Minnesota Loons. The WarHawks came in determine to the beat Loons on their home ice Friday night. Dominating the 1st period, out shooting the Loons 20 to 7.  The warhawks scored first but went into the 1st intermission only tied at 1. 2nd period opportunities became available with hard work and physical play allowing the WarHawks to scored 2 goals from Brayden Buckingham and Nik Johnson. Where the WarHawks have struggled most has been the 3rd period. But not Friday night. The WarHawks got 3 more goals finishing the night off with a 6-2 victory.

Hitting the ice back at the Willmar Civic Center vs the 1st place Rochester Grizzlies the next night. WarHawks knew they had to bring their best. Giving up a goal just 35 seconds into the game felt deflating, But the WarHawks responded well answering back just 2 and half minutes later to tie the game back up at 1. What was a very even back and forth game shot for shot. Grizzlies jumped ahead to get a 2 goal lead halfway through the 3rd period. WarHawks did put themselves back in reach 11:46 into the 3rd period. But that turned out to be to little too late. Grizzlies went on to score an empty netter causing a 4-2 defeat as a result.

The WarHawks players and staff remain very confident in this group and are determined as they go into the upcoming weekend where they will start on the road against Oct. 20 @ Rochester Grizzlies and back home Oct. 21 vs the Minnesota Loons.
