WarHawks Defensemen Sam Miller makes NCAA commitment

The Willmar WarHawks of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that Defensemen Sam Miller has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Chatham University of the UCHC Conference

Miller 20, 6’1 / 174lb. Defensemen from Denver, CO. Just finished his 3rd season of junior hockey with a NA3HL career stat of 95 points, 21 goals and 74 assists with an outstanding +65 +/- over 129 total games. Miller was acquired this season by the WarHawks in a mid December trade that also brought along Forward Patrick Wyers (Gustavus Commit) from the from the Oklahoma Ice Hawks (NA3HL). In a WarHawks jersey, Sam put up 3 goals and 13 assists in his 23 games.

Miller arrived in Willmar with a wide range of experience in the league while in 19-20 season playing for the Elmira Jr. Soaring Eagles, now known as the Bay State Bobcats. 20-21 season making a Fraser Cup tournament appearance with the Oklahoma City Jr. Blazers. Then to start off his 21-22 season he got 5 games under his belt in the NAHL with the Wichita Falls Warriors followed by rejoining his team in Oklahoma City.

“Miller was pursued via trade for a reason as we felt he could be a difference maker and sure things up on our back end after posting impressive numbers to start the season with Oklahoma. He came in and helped out Powerplay immediately and used his high-end skating ability to break pucks out of our D-zone, giving us the opportunity to get back on the offensive more effectively. The Chatham Cougars will be happy to have Sam joining them for the 22-23 season” stated WarHawks head coach Connor White
