WARHAWKS FALL TO GRANITE CITY AND GRIZZLIES
WarHawks faced a tall task scheduled to play the top 2 teams in the strong NA3HL west division beginning in Sauk Rapids vs the LumberJacks. What started out as a tight and competitive game, soon into the 2nd period turned into a full on blow out. WarHawks found themselves on the wrong side of several categories, but penalties seemed to hurt them the most. Those penalties lead to 4 PowerPlay goals against as Granite totaled 10 in the 10-2 final. Goal scorers for Willmar were Hudson Zinda and Sam Holm.
Saturday night in celebration of veteran’s day. They were looking sharp in their military themed jerseys. Willmar found themselves down early and while Rochester kept the pressure on consistently. Scoring 2 goals in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd period. The WarHawk’s winger Gus Cantwell scored the lone goal on a 5v3 PowerPlay early in the 3rd period. Final score 6-1 in Grizzlies favor.
The WarHawks will be on the road for their next 4 games. Starting off next Friday Nov. 17 facing again the Rochester Grizzlies. Followed by going to the rival Alexandria Blizzard Saturday Nov. 18.
