“The landscape of junior hockey changes and does so at a rapid pace.” Nate Schueller, Director of Operations, said. “That’s no different for our organization. Last week we announced the hiring of new Head Coach/GM Joey Fodstad who will take over for Payton Ruter and his assistant, Brennan Couet. Both of which needed to step back a little as both men wanted to spend more time with their family. I am pleased to announce that neither Brennan or Payton is leaving; they are transitioning into our new scouting department. I am thrilled that together, Brennan and Payton will be scouting players from around the world to find the next future WarHawks players.”
“I was extremely fortunate for my time with the Willmar Warhawks. The memories and players I’ve helped develop and turn into young men has been a privilege. I’m excited to watch the Warhawks organization grow.” Payton said about his time with the WarHawks. “Hockey is really a life sport. With my time in Willmar, I got to bring my two young boys to the rink with me everyday and rekindle past hockey memories with my dad. It’s a full circle moment for me and a dream come true. Thank you to the Warhawks fans and the Warhawk family for a fun four years!”
“I want to thank the Warhawks organization for their full support during my time on the coaching staff over the past three seasons. I am very excited to see the growth within the organization and excited to become a part of the front office to help solidify the Warhawks brand as a staple in the West division.” Brennan said.
