The Willmar WarHawks are thrilled to announce Megan Van Beusekom-Sweerin as the new goalie coach for the 2025-2026 season.
Sweerin was a First Team All-Ivy goaltender at Princeton from 2000-2004. She finished her tenure at Princeton as the program’s all-time leader in wins and save percentage and second in goals against average, plus career saves.
Sweerin won Gold twice with Team USA at the IIHF Women’s World Championships in 2005 and 2009. Earning a 92% save percentage at the World Championships. She also was a member of the Four Nations Team in 2007.
Sweerin then played professional hockey for the Minnesota Whitecaps for 12 seasons. Winning the Clarkson Cup Championship in 2010.
Megan was also a goalie coach for the University of Minnesota and St Cloud State University Women’s Hockey teams.
