Pinney called up to USHL

Dec 14, 2021

The Willmar WarHawks, proud members of the North American 3 Hockey League, are excited to announce that goaltender Will Pinney has been called up to the Dubuque Fighting Saints of the United States Hockey League. Pinney was called up to join the Fighting Saints for their most recent game vs Youngstown where he dressed as the backup goalie.

The 2001-born Pinney is from St. Louis Park, MN and is in his second season with the WarHawks after beginning his junior hockey career with the St. Cloud Norsemen of the NAHL.

“It’s a great accomplishment for Will to be called up. We’re extremely excited for him and know he’s capable of doing well at that level,” said WarHawks head coach Kirk Olimb.

“I think it sends another great message to the guys playing at this level that they are being watched and are going to get opportunities as they come. Each guy playing in our league wants to move up and we’re hopeful we’ll continue to have more guys being called up.”

The Willmar WarHawks congratulate Will Pinney on his call-up to the United States Hockey League, and wish him further success as the 2021-22 season continues.
