The Willmar WarHawks of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that Defenseman Michael Montague has committed to play NCAA Division II hockey for Post University Eagles of the CACC!
“Doc” Montague 21, 5’11” / 180lb, Defenseman from Saratoga Springs, NY. Just finished his 3rd season of junior hockey. His first season was with the Bay State Bobcats. He moved to the EHL with Team Maryland and then with the WarHawks tallying a total of 42 points (6 goals / 36 assists) in 121 games. Doc tendered with the WarHawks prior to the 2023-2024 season after going to the NA3HL 2022 Top Prospects.
“Doc is the epitome of being a WIllmar WarHawk. He was one of the driving forces behind our team last season. A quiet leader, but his play on the ice spoke louder than words” stated Head Coach and GM Payton Ruter.
After committing to play D II at Post University, Montague said that playing for the WarHawks was “the most fun I have had playing junior hockey. WarHawks are a special group this past year that overcame a lot. I wouldn’t change a thing!”
