McCARTHY RETURNS TO WARHAKWS

Small in stature, Big in value. The WarHawks proudly announce the return of Left Winger, from Cottage Grove, MN #2 Luke McCarthy. Luke was a big part of WarHawks success last season as a rookie. 2nd on the team in points last season where he earned himself 37 points (16 Goals, 21 Assists) in 46 regular season games. With that performance he caught the eyes on several NAHL teams and even being the first player out of the NA3HL to be drafted in the 2023 NAHL Draft coming in the 2nd round by the Bismarck Bobcats.

 

McCarthy has seen some different environments so far this season having spent time with 2 NAHL teams and most recently in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) Junior A. Where he posted an impressive 17 points in 26 games. Luke returns to Willmar aiming to contribute in a big way to get the WarHawks into a playoff spot in pursuit of a championship. While getting further and direct exposure to the NAHL. The addition couldn’t have come at a better time as the WarHawks face the Loons twice and the Toros before the NA3HL Showcase which will be held again at the Blaine Super Rink Dec. 17-19.

 

WarHawks GM Connor White had this to say, “We knew Luke worked hard this off season further improving his game, with him back in the mix and able to play in all situations. We believe he will make a big impact not only from his direct contributions on the scoreboard but also in how he can make players around him better. We look forward to seeing what he and the team can accomplish the remainder of the season.”
