Friday night’s loss turns into motivation against the Lumberjacks Saturday
Boys were excited to be back home to play in front of their fans last Friday night. Unfortunately, the excitement wasn’t enough to beat the Toros. Down 2-0 late in the first period, the Toros took a penalty and a spark was ignited on the WarHawks bench. Something seemed to change in the atmosphere and the boys started to be in sync. The intermission break doused that spark and the Toros were able to put 2 more on the board. Mason Wanka (7)(Hinze 9) took away the Toros shut out early in the 3rd, scoring a beautiful goal to beat tendy Currie.
Saturday, there was a different feel in the locker room as the boys got ready to take on the undefeated Lumberjacks at their barn. To the shock of the Lumberjacks bench, the score was 0-0 after the first. Boys were buzzing and the PK was perfect. The WarHawks thought they had scored a goal but after a very long time to deliberate, the refs ultimately called it a no goal. Coaches and staff were very happy with the way the boys played against the league’s best team. Final score was 0-3
