Grier called up to NAHL

Nov 30, 2021

The Willmar WarHawks, proud members of the North American 3 Hockey League, are excited to announce that forward Nolan Grier has been called up to the Jamestown Rebels of the North American Hockey League. Grier was called up to join the Rebels for their most recent series at Johnstown where he played in both games.

The 2003-born Grier is from Fond du Lac, Wisconsin and put up an impressive 20 points through 13 games in a WarHawks sweater this season, including 9 goals and 11 assists, prior to being called up to the NAHL.

“It’s a great accomplishment for Nolan to be called up. We’re obviously very excited for him and know he’ll do well at that level,” said WarHawks head coach Kirk Olimb. “I think his size and skill will translate well in the NAHL, as he has a unique set of skills to go along with a big frame. He can really shoot the puck, has good hands, and isn’t afraid to mix it up physically.”

Olimb continued, “I think it sends a great message to the guys playing at this level that they are being watched and are going to get opportunities as they earn them. Each guy playing in our league wants to play in the NAHL and we’re hopeful we’ll have more guys who can follow Nolan’s lead and be called up.”

The Willmar WarHawks congratulate Nolan Grier on his call-up to the North American Hockey League, and wish him further success as the 2021-22 season continues.
