Riley Dixon and Peyton Bolstad had big nights with 5 points (1 goal, 4 assists) and 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists) respectively as the Willmar WarHawks crushed the Breezy Point North Stars 6-0 in a home game at Willmar Civic Center Arena in Willmar. Furthermore, Luke Fry posted a shutout, stopping all 21 of the North Stars shots throughout the game. The Willmar WarHawks took the lead late in the first on a goal from Sam Voss and never looked back.
Braden Shea contributed with 2 goals and Sam Voss chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).
During the first period, Voss opened the scoring for the WarHawks with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 19:36 with helpers from his linemates, Bolstad and Dixon.
In the second, Bolstad deposited a goal at 9:40 with assists from Dixon and Toll. Berkowitz put in a goal at 15:04 with helpers from his linemates, Dixon and Voss. Shea quickly followed with a goal at 16:10 with assists from his teammates Bolstad and Toll.
In the third, Shea netted a goal at 12:56 with helpers from Dixon and Toll. Dixon quickly followed with a goal at 14:21 with assists from Bolstad and Koester.
Willmar’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Fry’s shutout, as he stopped all 21 of the shots he faced. Fry’s counterpart, Hershey, also had a big night, managing to stop 48 of 54, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Willmar WarHawks’ record to (18-16-3-0).
