In the second period, Oelkers put in what turned out to be the game winning goal at 2:30 with helpers from Koester and Shea. Martin netted a goal at 16:19 with assists from his linemates, Bauman and Cooper.
In the third, Bauman scored a goal at 4:47 with assists from his linemates, Martin and Cooper. Reilly finally put the Steel on the board with a goal at 14:07 with helpers from teammates Woytcke and Kreuser.
The WarHawks’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Fry as he stopped 19 of the 20 shots he faced. On the other hand, Fry’s counterpart, Kenny, and the Steel’s defense has had better outings stopping only 19 of 23 shots.
