Jared Fladebo scored the game winning goal late in the game as the Willmar WarHawks narrowly lost to the Breezy Point North Stars 6-5 in a home game at Breezy Point Hockey Center in Willmar. As well, Luke Fry came up big, stopping 30 of 36 shots throughout the game.
Peyton Bolstad contributed with 2 goals and Brandon Holt chipped in with 2 assists. Jared Fladebo had a busy night with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Danny Wieber delivered for his team with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).
In the first period, Gadbois opened the scoring for the North Stars with a goal at 5:53 with helpers from Hoyt and Morin. Cooper answered for the WarHawks with a goal at 9:12 with helpers from his linemates, Holt and Shea. Parisien answered for Breezy Point with a goal at 15:49 with assists from teammates Fladebo and Brosnan. Bolstad quickly followed with a goal at 16:10 with helpers from his linemates, Dixon and Slagter.
During the second, Dahle deposited a goal at 1:09 with assists from his linemates, Bauman and Oelkers. Berkowitz netted a goal at 10:36 with a helper from Holt. Bolstad scored a goal at 13:19 with an assist from Dixon.
In the third, Wieber answered for the North Stars with a goal at 0:21 with helpers from Maucieri and Flicek. Fladebo deposited a goal at 8:09 with assists from Heckaman and Wieber. Petroske quickly followed with a goal at 8:20. Fladebo netted what turned out to be the game winning goal at 18:43 with helpers from Brosnan and Morin.
